We're pleased to welcome Matthew Cheney (Matt) to EMAGE Group （Shemar Power Engineering ）as our Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand.
Matt brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience across Australia’s electricity networks, with deep expertise in transmission, grid transformation and large-scale energy transition programs.
He joins Shemar Power Engineering from Western Power, where he held several senior executive roles—including Executive Manager, Energy Transition & Sustainability and Chief Technology Officer—leading major transmission initiatives, digital transformation, and future-grid strategies. He has worked closely with government, regulators, AEMO and industry partners to deliver complex, high-value infrastructure programs across Western Australia.
As Managing Director, Matt will lead Shemar’s growth in Australia & New Zealand, strengthen our partnerships with utilities and developers, and drive the deployment of our advanced transmission solutions in the region.
